PFC 501A, 502A & 504A are one, two and four percent fluoropolymer solutions in low boiling point fluorosolvent (BP=56°C). Thin films dry in seconds at room temperature to a surface energy of about 10 dynes/cm. Warming to 90°C for 10 minutes optimizes adhesion and reduces the surface energy to about 6 dynes/cm. PFC500-series solutions may replace 3M FC722 and EGC-1700 and are recomended for dip application. The no charge addition of 2 percent fluorosilane or fluorophosphate is recommended for application to oxide surfaces.

PFC 504A-coFS is a four percent fluoro-silane copolymer solution (BP=84°C) for coating glass, ceramic and metal surfaces. Thin films dry in a few minutes and bond after a few minutes at 120° C or after 24 hours at room temperature. Surface energy of the cured film depends on the substrate and can vary between 6 and 10 dynes/cm. Application by dip.

PFC 504A-coE5 is a four percent fluoro-epoxide oligomer in a low boiling point fluorosolvent (BP=56°C) having good adhesion to many substrates. Coatings may be cured using amines, anhydrides or catalysts (thermal or UV). Surface energy of cured films can vary between 6 and 10 dynes/cm. Epoxy equivalent weight is 2800. Epoxy silanes at 1-2% are recommended on oxide surfaces.

PFC 501AFA, 502AFA & 504AFA are one, two and four percent fluorinated copolymer solutions in fluorosolvent (BP=56°C) that are optimized for adhesion to plastics such as vinyl and polycarbonate. Thin films dry in seconds at room temperature to a surface energy of about 10 dynes/cm. Warming to 90°C for 10 minutes optimizes adhesion and reduces the surface energy to about 6 dynes/cm. May not be resistant to somenpolar organic solvents.
